Electrosoft announced today that the National Institute of Standards and Technology has awarded the company a new task order on the Cybersecurity and Privacy Support Services (CAPSS) IDIQ for Cybersecurity for Internet of Things (IoT) Guidance Support Services. The company will provide subject matter expert support to NIST in the continued development and application of IoT cybersecurity standards, guidelines, and related tools to improve the cybersecurity of connected devices and the environments in which they are deployed.
“NIST’s collaborative approach to its visionary Cybersecurity for the IoT program is critical to setting standards and guidelines for IoT systems to thrive in environments that demand both security and resilience,” said Dr. Sarbari Gupta, CEO of Electrosoft. “Our team has proudly supported this NIST program for years, a partnership that reflects our deep commitment to securing connected devices and fostering trust across the government, industry, and global landscape. We look forward to continuing to work alongside NIST and its stakeholders to uphold the security standards that empower transformative IoT technologies.”
Under the task order, Electrosoft will support the creation of guidance and materials for enabling organizations to use NIST IoT cybersecurity guidance more effectively. The company will also support the development of plans and materials to conduct industry outreach for the adoption of NIST cybersecurity for IoT guidance.
Building on prior work related to the development and deployment of IoT products, Electrosoft will support the continued evolution of related NIST publications. For example, the company will build upon the recently evolved guidance of the consumer profile to a consumer router profile (NISTIR 8425A) and a whitepaper (CSWP 33 - Product Development Cybersecurity Handbook) on the development and deployment of IoT products, which include IoT devices and other associated components.
This task order is the latest contract in the long history of Electrosoft supporting NIST, which started more than 20 years ago.
